Calathea Vittata is particularly eye-catching as it appears almost hand-painted. Like most members of the Marantaceae or “Prayer Plant” family, Calathea ‘Vittata’ has a habit of opening and closing its leaves as day transitions to night.
This plant grows best in a humid environment in the indirect sun. Avoid letting the soil dry out for too long and try to place among other plants or with a humidifier so it doesn’t dry out inside your home (especially during Canadian winters with the furnace blasting hot dry air).
