What is Mead?
Mead is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey. It’s one of the oldest alcoholic beverages ever made, as it was consumed as far back as 4,000 years and was common across ancient cultures around the world including those in Asia, Europe and Africa. In addition to being a Cidery, Heeman’s is also designated as a Meadery (one of only a dozen in Ontario) to share our love of honey.
What is Jun?
Jun is a fermented drink similar to kombucha but with different base ingredients of green tea and honey instead of black tea and cane sugar which is popular for kombucha. Jun is brewed by fermenting green tea which has been sweetened with honey with a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast.
